Acquire knowledge of the main methodologies for assessing the autonomic nervous system through simple subtle variations in biological signals (blood pressure and heart rate). The time domain and frequency domain variability will be detailed and discussed with students. The impact of the autonomic control in maintaining upright posture will be focused and live in-person reviews in patients during tilt-table tests will be provided.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students are expect to acquire knowledge of concepts and methodologies related to autonomic cardiovascular control. Improve knowledge and management of patients with syndromes of orthostatic intolerance. They are able to use techniques to quantify the autonomic nervous system from the variability of vital signs. Know the impact of the SNA in the prognosis of cardiovascular diseases.

Impact of SNA in cardiovascular prognosis;

Syncope and Orthostatic Intolerance Syndromes. His approach in the XXI century.
