Students are expect to acquire knowledge and develop advanced skills for carrying out scientific projects in the cardiovascular area that require the use of molecular and cell biology techniques, including to:
1.Analyze specifically myocardial and vascular endothelium gene expression.
2.Quantify protein and gene expression (RT-PCR, Western Blot, etc).
3.Perform myocardial immunohistochemistry analysis.
4.Establish primary culture of cardiomyocytes, adipocytes and fibroblasts.
5.Genotype transgenic mice.6.Prepare conditioned media.
1.Regulation of myocardial gene expression.
2.Regulation of vascular endothelial gene expression.
3.Quantification of gene expression in cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells.
4.Myocardial immunohistochemical analysis.
5.Primary cell culture of cardiomyocyte and fibroblasts.

Continuous assessment based on students-teachers interaction during the hours of contact (25% of the final classification). A final written exam will weight 75% of the final grade.
