Objectives

Transmit knowledge of the molecular mechanisms of cell injury in cardiac diseases.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students should know and understand:

  1. Inducers of cardiac injury
  2. The cellular mechanisms of aggression
  3. The subcellular pathways activated by aggression
  4. The response of various cell types to aggression
  5. The cell death mechanisms and molecular remodeling and ventricular myocardial

Program


  1. Ventricular overload. Types of ventricular overload. Myocardial mechanotransduction. Physiological and pathological hypertrophy and its cellular and molecular mechanisms. Reverse remodeling.

  2. Myocardial ischemia. Types of ischemia. Ischemic preconditioning, hibernation and stunning myocardial . Necrosis and apoptosis. Reaction of the ischemic myocardium and remote myocardial ischemia.

  3. Acute and chronic myocardial inflammation. Infectious and noninfectious agents. Reverse remodeling.

  4. Diabetic cardiomyopathy . Adipokines and cardiac remodeling . Cardiomiocitárias changes of the cytoskeleton, the filaments and cell organelles. Changes in the extracellular matrix: fibrosis and AGEs.
