Objectives

- To develop the application of knowledge as the scientific foundation for performing the physical exam of the patient;
- To use the basic anatomical knowledge in the interpretation of symptoms of macroscopic morphologic alterations;
- To interpret and to describe imaging data and to establish correlations with sectional anatomy;
- To understand and describe the morphological bases of techniques of "invasive" procedures for diagnosis and therapeutics.

Program

Introduction to Clinical Anatomy; Principals of the general organization of the human body; Introduction to the Imaging Anatomy: techniques, methods and foundations of imagiology; Clinical anatomy of the back; Radiological anatomy of the back and of the limbs; Clinical anatomy of the upper limb: shoulder, elbow, fist and hand; Clinical anatomy of the lower limb: hip, knee, ankle and foot. Introduction to the study of the head: head in general and clinical anatomy of its development; Introduction to the study of the neck: neck in general, clinical anatomy of its development; Clinical anatomy of the visceral axis of the neck; Clinical anatomy of mastication, salivation, deglutition and phonation; Clinical anatomy of the thorax: thorax in general, root of the neck, diaphragm and mammary regions; Clinical anatomy of the wall of the thorax and of the mediastinum; Clinical anatomy of the lungs and pleurae; clinical anatomy of the abdomen: abdomen in general; clinical anatomy of the abdominal portion of the digestive system; Coeliac trunk and mesenteric arteries: causes and consequences of their obstructions; Clinical anatomy of the retroperitoneal area; Introduction to the study of the pelvis: pelvis in general; Clinical anatomy of the pelvic content in the male and in the female; clinical anatomy of the peritoneum and external genital organs of the male and female; Clinical anatomy of enervation and irrigation of the pelvis and of the perineum in the male and in the female; Clinical anatomy of invasive procedures.

Eligibility for exams

Distributed continuous assessment in the discussion and theoretical-practical sessions.
Practical assessment by the identification of structures in sections of body regions and in pictures of anatomical sections and of imaging documents; Identification of 40 structures in anatomical sections, imagiologing documents. Identification of at least 30 structures to obtain approval (10 values).
Theoretical assessment with multiple choice questions.

Requirements for approval: To obtain 10 marks in the practical trial to have access to the theoretical exam, and 9.5 marks in the theoretical trial for approval in the curricular unit. In the calculation of the final average the distributed continuous assessment contributes 10%, the practical exam 20% and the theoretical exam 70%.
