Overview:

The Master in Epidemiology aims to contribute to the development of specific knowledge in this field and to enhance the ability to identify, evaluate and act in response to potential threats tothepopulation’s health problems.

Advanced training in this area has been increasingly valued as fundamental for the achievement of public health goals, as well as the assurance of individual and population health, optimizing health resources.

The current programme focuses on a specific area of knowledge and is relevant in particular to MDs, but also to students with other degrees in Health and Social Sciences or Mathematics, with a strong enthusiasm towards scientific research.

The Master comprises a team of highly qualified faculty as well as other administrative research resources, and facilities, including those available at the Institute of Public Health, that contribute to the quality of the program.

The students have the possibility to attend elective modules in the context of the European Master in Epidemiology, promoting mobility and the interconnection with European research networks, aiming to contribute, the highly-needed training of qualified epidemiologists in Portugal.

Eligibility:

Medical doctors or graduates (1^st or 2^nd cycles) in other Health Sciences degrees.
