Objectives
This course aims to address the challenges of infectious diseases in the 21st Century, namely those representing major public health threats, and to present the specificities on infectious diseases epidemiology, their surveillance and control.
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the course, students should be able to identify and define the main concepts specific to the epidemiology and control of infectious diseases. They should be able to know the epidemiology and specific control measures of the infectious diseases covered in the classroom, as well as the concepts associated with healthcare-associated infections. Finally, students should be able to define the main concepts associated with the emergence of infectious diseases.
