Debriefing is a method of reflective practice that makes it possible to scrutinise assumptions and practices after an action. Debriefing is an essential part of clinical simulation training and it is in this phase (post-action) that reflection on professional practices takes place, promoting the correction and modification of future actions. This technique is not only applied in the context of simulation, but also in clinical practice, thereby improving the performance of health professionals and patient care. Debriefing is still little known and little applied in the national clinical context and in simulated training it is often undervalued.

This course has been designed so that participants acquire basic and advanced debriefing skills, essential for moderating and facilitating clinical simulation scenarios. It will also explore how this practice can be applied in a clinical context.

This training programme will be a pioneer in Portugal, reinforcing FMUP and U. Porto's leading position in the field of health and clinical simulation.

The teaching/learning methodology consists of face-to-face theoretical-practical sessions, divided into brief theoretical presentations, group dynamics, interactive debriefing exercises, group dynamics and reflective discussions on the performance.

Destinatários: Licenciados em áreas das ciências da saúde ou afins, docentes do ensino superior ou profissionais de saúde que pretendam usar o debriefing como ferramenta de ensino/aprendizagem.
