OVERVIEW
The Doctoral Program in Biomedicine of the University of Porto (PDBioMed-UP) is a tailor-made program that enables students from multiple backgrounds to acquire the basic theoretical and practical skills necessary to develop a PhD thesis in the various fields of biomedicine. The course is organized in two steps: the first year is entirely devoted to theoretical and practical training in biomedicine and related fields. At the end of the academic year the student should be able to prepare the PhD project with support from the supervisor and co-supervisor, and the following years are dedicated to the experimental work. The student will be asked to write, with the support of the supervisor, at least two papers, to be published in peer reviewed journals, to be included in the doctoral thesis.
