Objectives
Recognize and evaluate the most common oral cavity diseases that require surgical and non-surgical treatment;
Develop skills in techniques and auxiliary means that help in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies of the oral cavity;
Develop progressive autonomy in clinical reasoning and the ability to make decisions before a patient;
Be autonomous in approaching patients with periodontal pathology, regardless of their age and systemic condition;
To be qualified for a critical and reflective study in the field of Oral Implantology;
Diagnose, plan and execute integrated rehabilitation treatments;
Know the techniques and skills needed to carry out treatments in the field of Oral Implantology;
Know and master the classic and current scientific literature in the field of Oral Implantology.
Learning outcomes and competences
This course is a sequence of the previous subjects not only from a theoretical, theoretical-practical point of view, but also practical. Thus, the syllabus and its teaching in TP and P classes with contact with patients aim to apply the concepts learned in the previous UC and deepen deeper and more specific knowledge in the medical-surgical context.

Eligibility for exams
Students can only obtain attendance at the UC if their unexcused absences do not exceed 25% of the total practical classes.
Calculation formula of final grade
The formula to be applied is as follows:
50% Theoretical-practical component + 50% Practical component (40% continuous assessment +10% practical test)
Minimum grade of 9.0 (out of 20) in each of the theoretical and practical components
THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL COMPONENTFinal written exam on Moodle, 40 multiple-choice questions, one correct answer, no points deducted for wrong answers
PRACTICAL COMPONENT - continuous and procedural (40% of the final grade) - Average grade given by the practical teachers for each student
- patient care - continuous and procedural (according to the OSCE and SCOT teaching and assessment methodology and based on the criteria of punctuality and attendance, participation and interest, diagnosis and treatment plan, clinical record, quality of treatments carried out, practical knowledge demonstrated, disseminated to students via moodle) - Compulsory
- Test with 3 clinical cases: one in Periodontology, one in Oral Medicine and one in Oral Surgery - (10% of the final grade) - will be held after the theoretical exam
REPEAT EXAM PERIOD:Same format and guidelines as the regular exam period
For UC exams taken on Moodle, students must install the SAFE EXAM application on their computers prior to the exam. Students may request assistance from the FMDUP IT technician in advance.
