Learning outcomes and competences

The course aims to provide the student with theoretical knowledge on the diagnosis and non-surgical and surgical treatment of the various areas of the curricular unit, which,  with training in models, simulation, clinical practice on patients, videos and the presentation and discussion of clinical cases, will enable the student to develop the necessary skills to achieve the objectives of the curricular unit and to be able to carry out the diagnosis and treatment plan in these areas and to be able to carry out some of the necessary treatments such as periodontal instrumentation and tooth extractions of teeth present in the dental arches.

Eligibility for exams

The student fulfils the attendance requirement when they do not exceed the number of absences corresponding to 25% of the TP and PL classes defined as compulsory. In order to take the final exam, the student must score 9.0 (out of 20) in the practical component and, at the same time, the student must have completed a periodontogram registration consultation, a dental extraction and the clinical case exam on moodle. The minimum mark for the theoretical component to be taken into account in the UC assessment formula is 9.0 (out of 20).

For UC exams taken on moodle, the SAFE EXAM application must be installed on the student's computer before the exam, so the student can ask the FMDUP IT technician for help in advance.

Final appeal exam - With the same format and guidelines as the regular exam.

Calculation formula of final grade

Distributed assessment with final exam

 - patient care - continuous and procedural (according to the OSCE and SCOT teaching and assessment methodology and based on the criteria of punctuality and attendance, participation and interest, diagnosis and treatment plan, clinical record, quality of treatments carried out, practical knowledge demonstrated, disseminated to students via moodle) - Compulsory

Formula: 40% P component (10% clinical case moodle exam + 30% clinical practice) + 60% T/TP component (exam)
