Teaching methods and learning activities

The course is organized in theoretical (T) and theoretical-practical (TP) lectures. T lectures are set on the introduction of drug prescribing concepts, through a global approach of the subject. In TP lectures, the students solve a worksheet, with clinical case scenarios, that aim to develop and mature the prescribing competencies, and the critical evaluation of the clinical thought. In this course, the evaluation includes the scoring of the group worksheets and also a final exam.

Calculation formula of final grade

The evaluation focuses on the integration of knowledge and decision-making. The final classification includes the components of continuous assessment and the final examination.

A. Continuous evaluation – 30% (0 to 6, out of 20)
a. Presentation, resolution, and discussion of case problems/clinical cases during P lectures: 10%;
b. Presentation of an issue related to the syllabus, in a TP lecture: 10%;
c. Test focusing on an integrative clinical case, at the end of the semester: 10%).

B. Final examination: 70% (0 to 14, out of 20)

Minimal classification for each component corresponds to 45% of the ponderation.

Final classification: A + B

Minimal classification for approval: 10
