Objectives
The general goals of the UC Iconography are:
- To insure the knowledge of the basic concepts of photography and presentation;
- The use of photography applied to Dental practice;
- To be able to use adequate photographic techniques during case documentation.

The Student ought to:

5. Cameras and their components.
6. Basic concepts in photography:
a. Exposure;

c. Shutter speed;
d. Shutter and aperture ringe.
e. Depth of fieldf.
f. White balanceg.
g. Histograms;
h. Exposure programs: P, A, S, M.
7. Intra-oral photography:
a. Protocol;
b. Materials;
c. Characteristics of each photo: frontal, lateral, occlusal, overjet and overbite;
d. Practice.
8. Extra-oral photography:
a. Protocol;
b. Materials;
c. Background;
d. Lighting protocols;
e. Protocols for each dental specialty;
f. Characteristics of each photo: frontal, profile, ¾;g. Practice.
9. Object photography:

c. Practice: orthodontic appliances, dentures, dental impressions;

Eligibility for exams
Mandatory attendance at least 75% of contact hours.
Calculation formula of final grade
Formula Evaluation: - Attendance x 10% x + practical assessment x 45% + final theoretic assessment x 45%
The final classification will be expressed in numerical scale from 0 to 20.
It is approved the student whose final grade evaluation is equal to or above 10.
Internship work/project
elaborate a photographic dossier of one patient
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
written test (50%) + pratical project (50%)
