Objectives
The student must be able to diagnose, plan and execute the following treatments:
- Non-Surgical Periodontal Treatment, including subgingival debridement, use of systemic and topical antimicrobials, together with the assessment and control of associated risk factors;
- Surgical Periodontal Treatment, including: access flaps, apical repositioning, regenerative techniques and periodontal and aesthetic plastic surgery procedures.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The Curricular Unit will consist of theoretical classes introducing the content taught and practical clinical classes, supervised by teachers, to apply previously acquired knowledge.

Calculation formula of final grade
Assessment methods include the assessment of practical and theoretical components. The practical component is assessed through continuous assessment of students in a clinical environment (50%). The theoretical component is assessed through a written exam of the syllabus taught during the semester (50%).
