Objectives
The main objective of this UC is for students to be able to implement projects that contribute to the development of different aspects of Dentistry, including the use of new materials and the latest technologies. Diverse knowledge will be administered that will allow students to expand their knowledge in everything that is used in different clinical areas of Dentistry.
Learning outcomes and competences
Students must be able to elaborate a given project and have the critical spirit to demonstrate that it has an interest to be implemented in order to contribute to the development of Dentistry and its different areas.
If they are able to carry out a project fulfilling the objectives of this UC, students will be competent so that, when they complete the course, they can provide higher quality dentistry.

Program
Seminars in which some projects in the field of Dentistry will be presented, aiming at their discussion and understanding. In this way, it is intended to arouse the interest of students in exploring aspects of Dentistry, which can lead to a better quality in the provision of services to the community. The optimization of the use of materials and technologies used more recently, will be topics to be explored by students, and this knowledge may be an asset for the professional output of Dentists trained at FMDUP.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Seminars are planned on the development of projects in the field of Dentistry, as well as the discussion of projects presented by students. These will be helped to research aspects such as, for example, the use of different materials and different technologies used in clinical practice. The incentive for students to follow the research area is also considered in these seminars, being extremely important that some of them are able to follow this career.
