Objectives

At the end of curricular unit, the student must: Be capable of a critical and reflective study in the field of Surgery and Oral Pathology. To acquire knowledge on the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the most common oral diseases. Making a correct diagnosis of oral diseases Knowledge and mastery of methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases in the area of ciruriga and Oral Pathology Master the technical and scientific literature necessary to perform treatments in Oral Surgery area. Mastering the research methodology on the field of Surgery and Oral Pathology. Be able to perform clinical and laboratory research. Have the theoretical and practical bases for the preparation and publication of articles and scientific papers.

Learning outcomes and competences

The theoretical exposition of the syllabus followed the practice show allows students to recognize the importance of taught subjects. The purpose of this course is to give the student a theoretical knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of area Surgery and Oral Pathology. In this sense it made a theoretical approach of these pathologies with practical demonstration through pictures and videos.
The relationship between the theoretical and the practical application enables students to the achievement of learning objectives. Being a fundamentally clinical subject, taught through lectures, power would make it difficult clinical application of the concepts taught. Thus, in the lectures, students are presented images and videos that portray the theoretical concepts taught.

Teaching methods and learning activities

As mentioned in this curricular unit will be presented in lectures relaccionados concepts with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the oral surgery and oral pathology area. This theoretical approach is complemented by the presentation of clinical cases with clinical images and videos of the disease and its treatments.
