Objectives
Aquisition of theoretical competences regarding the fundamentals of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering concepts - cells, scaffolds and biomodulators - and their application within the framework of Dental Medicine.
Developmeent of research research and experimental plannign skills within the frame of regenerative medicine.
Development of capacities for the application of new regenrative medicine strategies within the clinical framework of dental medicine.
Learning outcomes and competences
The course aims to develop, within students, basic knowledge regarding regenerative medicine approaches for Dental Medicine. Through the acquisition of fundamental concepts of cell functionality, biological response modulation with biomodulators and the recognition of the relevance of scaffolds for the mimicking of the adequate microenvironment, that the student develops his competences for the application of these concepts within the regenerative strategies for oral-based biological tissues.
The teaching approach in a seminar format allows for a diversified and wide coverage content and permits, for the students, the contact with diversifed themes within regenerative medicine. A fundamental focus will be set on the clinical contextualization of the reported approaches.
