Objectives

This course consists of one hour lecture and one hour of practical demonstrations per week. It intends to study the different pathologies according to their occurrence in the various regions of the stomathognatic system.

Learning outcomes and competences

Along the course students will elaborate reports of the patients examined in the practical sessions consisting of the clinical history including the laboratory tests performed and the therapeutics indicated.

The stdent must have previous knouledge of subjects thaught in previous years respectively im MOI and MOII.

1) Lip pathology.
2) Discussion of clinical cases of lip pathology.
3) Pathology of jugal mucosa.
4) Discussion of clinical cases of the pathology of jugal mucosa.
5) Pathology of tongue and floor of the mouth.
6) Discussion of clinical cases of the pathology of the tongue and floor of the mouth.
7) Pathology of the salivary glands.
8) Discussion of clinical cases of the pathology of the salivary glands.
9) Pathology of the jaws.
10) Discussion of clinical cases of the pathology of the jaws.
11) Gum pathology.
12) Discussion of the clinical cases of gum disease.
13) Pathology of the palate.
14) Discussion of clinical cases of the pathology of palate.
15) Approach the patient medically compromised.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Lectures and practical demonstrations.

The student should therefore understand the anatomical and microscopic variations presented by the lesions in each oral location. The latter are the lips, the jugal mucosa and vestibule, the adherent and free gingiva, the floor of the mouth, the tongue, the palate, the salivary glands, the edental maxillaries and the osseal pathology without the cysts. Each local pathology will be described in a first lecture followed by another lecture of discussion of paradigmatic clinical cases taken from our files.

Eligibility for exams

Prevails the frequency regime of UP, see regulation of UP and FMDUP.
(Minimum 75% of contact hours).

Calculation formula of final grade

Average of the marks obtained in the final examination test and continuous evaluation in the scale 0 to 20.
Final mark = 45% (practical continuous evaluation, practical exame, discussion of clinicas cases) + 45% (theoretic exame) + 10% (assiduity).

The teoretical components and the pratices components are considered indispensable for the approval of all students. Students whose status allows the special system assessement may be assessed out the normal calendar. However to Knowledge the rules legally stipulated for each case should consult the following regulations:
