Objectives

Application of scientific knowledge acquired in previous UCs in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of hard tissues of the teeth. Students must be enable to restore teeth with a greater degree of complexity within the operative dentistry.So at the end of the semester students should be able to communicate, organize and support its clinical cases and their treatment options

Complementary theoretical presentation of some issues more directly related to the clinical practice, not covered in the previous UCs of Dentistry I, II and III and demonstraçãoda procedures and clinical protocols in practical classes and the discussion of clinical cases presented by students and clinical activity presented by students under the supervision of teachers can realize learning objectives

Care of patients in the Clinic of the Faculty.


- Class I composite restorations molar / premolar (upper or lower).


- Class II amalgam restorations molar / premolar (upper or lower).


- Class II composite restorations molar / premolar (upper or lower).


- Class III composite restorations.


- Class IV composite restorations.


- Class V composite restorations and glass ionomer restorations (anterior or posterior teeth).

In practical classes versus medical students are divided into groups consisting of two elements, one is the operator and another assistant, conducting clinical acts tutored by teachers. All clinical trials are registered in their own leaves, called sheet of the student, which contains the patient identification, initial and final radiographs and registration processing carried out. For each treatment achieved is evaluated by the student teaching regarding their diagnostic ability, behavior and clinical performance, and this is the basis for the evaluation contínua.Por other hand, the students had a report about a clinical assessment to sew more complex having treated.    Evaluation is distributed with final exam.

Calculation formula of final grade

The final grade is calculated by the sum of:

1 - Clinical report on a case the student's choice (10%)

2 - Continuous evaluation by the teacher in charge of theoretical knowledge that the student has the capacity to diagnosis and planning, attitude towards the patient and implementation capacity of the treatment (80%)

3 - Class participation (10%)
