Student´s knowledge achievement on classification, etiology and pathogenesis of oral diseases and develop abilities on practice.
Student will be able to:
Understand, examine, diagnose and document a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues.
Attain a complete medical and clinical history.
Acknowledge and evaluate most frequent oral diseases that require surgical and non surgical treatment.
Develop practical knowledge on auxiliary means which help oral diseases diagnosis and treatment.
Be able to carry out surgical procedures for teeth extraction and hard and soft tissues surgery.
Understanding the importance of examining, diagnosing and documenting;
Obtain a medical history and complete medical patient;
Recognize and evaluate the diseases of the oral cavity requiring most common surgical and nonsurgical;
Developed skills and techniques aids that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the oral pathology diseases
Patient's are consulted by the students in the FMDUP clinic, superviosioned by the teachers. The students will diagnose and treat pathologies on oral surgey.
In the programme of the discipline are part of a set of clinical procedure , related to the diagnosis and surgical treatment of some diseases of the oral cavity . In this sense they are provided to students the conditions to do them in real clinical environment. Thus, the conditions are created so that the learning objectives are met.

Distributed evaluation without final exam The evaluation is performed by continuing monitoring by teachers of clinical work done by the students. So they are evaluated aspects related to the diagnosis and clinical implementation of the operative act. The practical assessment corresponds to 100% of the final grade.
