-DNA
-RNA
-Replication
-Reparation
-Transcription and splicing
-rRNA synthesis and processing
-Translation
-iRNAs
-Cell cycle
-Meiosis
-Fertilization
-Cancer
-Oral cancer
Practical classes:
- Aquisition of technical skills related to the establishment of human cell cultures and its cellular and molecular characterization
- Aquisition of skills related to scientific investigation
Scientific Seminar: Students (in groups of 4) prepare a seminar integrated with Biochemistry II, Epidemiology / Biostatistics II and Technologies of Information and Communication, for presentation at the end of the school year. Scientific subjects addressed in the seminars and then discussed with professors and colleagues.
Active learning: case studies, problem-based learning and paper discussions.
Laboratory practical classes including lab experiments, writting of scientific reports and problem solving.

Students must attend at least 75% of all classes to be admitted to exams. Students who fail their exams are not obliged to attend classes the following year.
It is necessary to perform the oral presentation.
Theory (T) and Continuous evaluation (C) : laboratory and seminar presentation Theory: 1 test (two hours) Continuous evaluation: Laboratory work and reports, problem resolution and Integrative seminar presentation.
The final mark is calculated as follows: Theory test (T) (maximum score = 14) + practical evaluation (maximum score = 4) + class attendance (maximum score = 2).
The student must attend at least 75% of all classes and have a final mark of at least 10/20 to pass the course. The student must have a minimum classification (9 out of 20) in each component.
These students will be alowed to have alternative exam dates, in accordance with the law. Final mark is obtained as follows: Theory exam (maximum score = 13) + Lab Exam (maximum score = 5).
