Teaching methods and learning activities
Cognitive skills are developed through participatory exposure and resolution of clinical cases. The practical skills are developed of supervised practical work in attending patients. Communication skills are acquired through group dynamics and interaction of the student with the patient.
Students begin their clinical practice to collect all important data for proper diagnosis and treatment of patients. They make the treatment plan and execute the simplest surgical procedures and assist the most complex. All clinical activity is supervised by at least one teacher. So, if you want to give increasing autonomy to students, preparing them, by providing assistance to the most complex acts for the implementation of more complex acts in the future.
The practical, clinical and laboratorial classes are based on surgical procedures under the supervision of a teacher, or, in more complex cases assist the surgery performed by the teacher. The student registration of all surgical procedures is required.Distributed evaluation without final exam (100% assessment towards the clinical and surgical activity of the student).
