It is intended that students should be competent in structuring a research methodology in Conservative and Aesthetic Dentistry properly framed with the inherent features. At the end of this academic component, students should be able to undestnd the differences between an investigation in vitro, in vivo and epidemilogic. They should also be able to present a research project in area.

The theoretical exposure accompanied syllabus of the practical demonstration allows students to recognize the importance of taught subjects. Namely, exposing various concrete examples in this field of investigation that is Conservative Dentistry, that the Department of Operative Dentistry has being developing, with special emphasis on Aesthetic Dentistry.

The relationship between the theoretical and the practical application enables students to the achievement of learning objectives, because they can practice what they’ve learned by the analisis of papers and with The presentation of a simulated investigation proposal.

Analysis of research papers related to facial aesthetics and reliability of results in conservative rehabilitation; of durability of materials used in conservative aesthetic clinical treatments , restorative techniques related to the treatments performed in the conservative aesthetic.

Theoretical and practical lessons

Distributed evaluation without final exam. Students should prepare some writen analisis of papers pulished by the Department and end up with a presentation of a simulated investigation proposal.
