Objectives

Study of medical diseases with high prevalence in the community. Concepts of epidemiology, mortality and prognosis. Clinical manifestations and diagnosis. Basis of therapeutic approach. Primary prevention. Prevention of new clinical events and chronic complications. Impact of conditions studied in dentistry. Evaluation of risk factors in the medical act of Dental Medicine. Identification and correction of urgent clinical situations, by recognizing the signs or symptoms that characterize them. Basic life support. Evaluation of drug interactions. Health Promotion and Decision Medical Analysis.

• Cardiovascular (hypertension, coronary heart disease, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, heart failure)

• Infectious (HIV, hepatitis, herpes)

- The pregnant patient.
  - The transplant patient.
