Objectives

Aims: acquire knowledge about the anatomy of the oral cavity, forms of pain management techniques, asepsis and antisepsis, surgical material and develop skills for the practice of Oral Surgery.
The control of pain and anxiety of the patient is fundamental in Oral Surgery.
the student's pre-graduate should be able to manage all forms of local and regional anesthesia required for surgery in the oral cavity and be able to deal with complications that may occur after application of these methods of pain control.


Learning outcomes and competences

The student will be able to: 
-Understand the importance of examining, diagnosing and documenting; 
-Obtain a medical history and patient's complete; 
-recognize the stuff for all surgical interventions; 
-identify all the techniques of asepsis and antisepsis; 
-work in an operating room.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Theoretic and Theoretic-practical classes.
Theoretic classes - during for 45 minutes, reserving the final 15 minutes answering questions for students.
The practical classes provide the student contact with the practical component of the theoretical issues under the supervision of a teacher.

Final mark from 0 to 20 points = (Theoretical test x 0,45) + (average of all practical work + report + continuous evaluation mark)x 0,45) + (class attendance x 0,1)

Minimum of 10 points must be achievd for approval. Although a minimum of 9,0 points (in 20) is required in either theoretical and practical evaluation.
