Objectives

• To understand the microorganism-host interaction as well as the role of microorganisms in Human disease.

• To know different methods and the general principles of microbial growth control.

• To know the oral normal microbiota and the etiology of oral infections.

• To know and understand the laboratorial methods and techniques used in oral microbiota diagnostic.

Learning outcomes and competences

It is expected that the student understands the microorganism-host interaction and, in particular, understand the he role of microorganisms in Human disease.

It is expected that students know and understand the different methods and general principles of microbial growth control.

It is also expected that the student knows the oral normal microbiota, the etiology of oral infections and acquire skills in laboratorial methods and techniques used in oral microbiota diagnostic.
