Objectives

The transmission of the concepts and principles that govern the scientific spirit is the first priority, to be followed by the motivation for scientific work. This should enable the students to discipline: the literature (methodologies and sources), implementation of research design (integration of objectives and statistical methods), the interpretation of results based on statiscal analysis and dissemination. Finally, encourage scientific work for the multidisciplinary skills and obtaining greater interaction.

Learning outcomes and competences

It is estimated that the students obtain analitycal and critical capacity before statistical results, and gain critical skills in the analysis of scientific papers.

Eligibility for exams

The evaluation system will be implemented by the method of discontinuous and summative assessment procedure to be carried out with a teorical test, one practical test and a research work group. Being dependent on the approval of a minimum score of 9 values in the first two periods, respectively. Will follow, in particular time, take action (theory and practical exam) to those who need,  except for students who hold more than 1 / 4 faults in relation to the number of classes taught. Evaluation Procedure: 2 hours theory test (quotation 45% ); Group work (quotation 20 %), practical test (quotation 25%). Attendance: (Rating 10% of the proportionate share of attendance).

Conditions of approval:

1. In the assessment procedure, students may be approved only with more than 9 out of 20 in each of the two exames (theoretical and practical) and achieving a minimum average of 10 points.

2. Minimum attendance in lectures and practical (3 / 4).

3. Students can only gain entry into exame resource, if fulfilled the previous point.

Calculation formula of final grade

Continuous evaluation formula: Final Evaluation = 0.45*Theory test + 0.20*Group work + 0.25 *Practical test + 0.1*coefficient of attendance.

After completion of the previous evaluation, students may resort to appeal a Theory test and a Practical test to be held on the same day.

Formula assessment exam feature: Final Evaluation = 0.75*Theory test + 0.25 *Practical test (*).

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

According to the rules of UP 2013/2014.

Classification improvement

Formula assessment exam feature: Final Evaluation = 0.75 * Theory test + 0.25 * Practical test

Observations

(*) Students who obtained 14 marks or higher in practical test during regular evaluation are exempt from the final practical exam in the same school year.
