History of implant dentistry: evolution and current concepts. Human anatomy applied to implant dentistry. Anatomy of periodontal tissues around implants and (macroscopic, microscopic, vascularization, innervation). Bone (biology and physiology). Soft tissues (biology and physiology). Osseointegration: Concept and primary and secondary stability.
Level integration of soft tissue around the implants (the concept of platform switching).
Concepts of osteogenesis, osteoinduction and osteoconductive. Types of Implants. Materials - their properties. Design, shape, size, thickness. Biological response. Implants 1 Phase 2 Phase VS. Implants 1 VS 2 pieces.
