Objectives

Advanced Statistics Module

This course aims to promote the acquisition of concepts and skills necessary for the proper use of statistical techniques. The course will be taught using the SPSS ® (http://www.spss.com/), a statistical software that lets you run these tests and view the data / results in a very simple and interactive. At the end of this course, students will have acquired the ability to identify what type of statistical analysis used to answer the questions, perform statistical analysis in SPSS and interpret / display the results properly.

Advanced Statistics Module


1. Review of concepts: descriptive statistics and statistical inference by confidence intervals and hypothesis tests (one and two populations).

2. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) to compare more than two people. ANOVA with nominal and ordinal factors. Nonparametric ANOVA.

3. ANOVA for repeated measures (parametric and nonparametric).

4. ANOVA with multiple factors and multivariate ANOVA.

5. Measures of association and correlation (parametric and nonparametric). Bivariate linear regression analysis.

6. Multiple Linear Regression and Logistic Regression Binary.

Advanced Statistics Module

The classes are organized into theoretical and practical sessions of 3 hours, divided into 2 distinct parts: after a first half expository / examples, the class will be geared to problem solving data, facilitating learning and encouraging learner autonomy, both in performing statistical analysis in SPSS or in the interpretation of results.
