Objectives

The aim of the Course of Occlusion and TMJ is to give students knowledge that will enable the diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders and differential diagnosis with other pathologies orofacial, with overlapping signs and symptoms.

Students must develop skills for, independently, be able to diagnose in clinical practice, temporomandibular disorders and make differential diagnosis with other orofacial syndromes. Should acquire skills to refer the patient to a colleague more empowered when it recognizes that the necessary treatment exceed their capabilities. They must also be competent in developing multidisciplinary work and in conducting scientific research.

Teaching the course of occlusion and TMJ is distributed by the lectures. These lessons, using the media, have, as intended, transmit information, facilitate understanding and interpretation of literature and awakening motivation.
