Objectives
The general aims of this subject - Orthodontic Sciences I - offers the following core competencies:
- to ensure adequate knowledge of basic science in order to allow the student to recognize deviations from normal development of the dental and craniofacial growth;
- to develop knowledge on issues related to research in orthodontics, craniofacial growth and post-natal care, the local and general etiological factors of malocclusion, the biological basis of orthodontic treatment and dentofacial orthopedic and orthodontic diagnosis .

- Etiology of malocclusion - general factors;
- Etiology of malocclusion - local factors;
- Biological aspects of orthodontic treatment;
- Biological aspects of dentofacial orthopedic treatment;
- Orthodontic Diagnosis.
