Objectives

Restorative treatment of anterior and posterior simple and complex. Treatment of teeth with auxiliary retention means. Whitening teeth in vital and not vital. Presentation and discussion of different clinical cases in Conservative Dentistry.
Different endodontic treatment in plurirradiculares and monoradicular teeth with degree of difficulty of execution higher than in the previous two clinical semesters.

Program

Practical-Theoretical Program:
Presentation and discussion of the clinical cases performed by students of this clinical unit, during the practical classes, in clinical environment at the Clinic Prof. Doutor Fernando Peres (FMDUP) .
Practical Program: Patient clinical attendance.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Evaluation: sum and discussion of clinical acts. These clinical acts are selected by the responsible tutor during the classes of the previous week.
Practical-Theoretical Evaluation: Mostly by clinical performance and diagnostic abilities/decisions. Behaviour and theoretical answers during the clinical classes.
Each student should deliver all the data regarding the clinical act previously selected, to the supervisor.
X-Rays and photographs should be delivered in digital mode and the written report in a Word file to the email of the supervisor.
Evaluation: The Endodontic final score, can be calculated by the written reports average, for each treatment completed, per student and by the supervisor.
Report score+Supervisor score / 2
The written reports should be delivered to the Professor, strictly 8 days after the completed treatment.

According the rules stepped by the Faculty Superior Assembly, the final evaluation will worth 90%, adding the 10% related to the assiduity, afterwards.

I
Summary and discussion of clinical cases. These have been selected and recommended by the assistant of the sector during the practical lessons of the previous week.
II
Evaluation theory and practice: beyond the capacity of clinical performance of diagnostic decisions and the conduct and theoretical questions during practical classes.
Notes:
• Each student must provide the assistant field the details concerning the case study selected
• Preferably deliver Photography * Rx + report in Word and digitized for e-mail assistant sector
* Photos taken by Master João Cardoso Ferreira. The student can also take photos.

Classroom Practice Operative Dentistry / Endodontics

1. Treat more than one tooth per visit whenever possible. To this must be reviewed and analyzed and the beginning of the lesson plan the patient's treatment to appear.
2. Occasionally we can pass the mark of the 2nd patient, duly authorized by the teacher
3. In the case of two patients scored in the same class, the assistant should be notified early in the class.
4. Time expected by the patient: 15 minutes (tolerance)

For recovery of the final grade, the leaves of student work is advisable to have the following practical exercises:

• a Class I composite restoration
• Restore a Class I amalgam
• Restore a composite in Class II molar or premolar (upper or lower)
• Restore a Class II silver amalgam on molar or premolar (upper or lower)
• Restore a Class IV composite or complex anterior esthetic restoration or rehabilitation of a more aesthetic tooth
• Restore a Class V composite or glass ionomer (anterior or posterior)
• Greater Restoration with a intraradicular pin

1. However, each student will also be advised by the assistant to perform sector jobs that have not featured in the leaf of the previous semester.
2. The radiographs of case reports appearing in the leaves of the student must be in port-films or sheets of acetate.
3. Should be performed absolute isolation of the operative field where necessary
