Cycles of Study/Courses
Objectives
To stimulate the students to participate in the different sectors of a Surgery Service and to develop various activities, so they can have a real integration in the spirit of a team and, in this way, easily use the scientific method and the logical and associative rational in solving clinical problems; to learn the criteria in selecting complimentary diagnostic exams; to understand the relevance in weighing out the cost/beneficial relationship; to acquire the knowledge of the physio-pathological mechanisms and the pathology of the surgical diseases; to develop a critical and creative capacity, and to be able to achieve the reach of individual study habits, the self-learning process and continuous medical education; to assimilate the importance of the multidisciplinary approach of some of the programmed themes; to be able to increment notions of Ethics and Deontology that will assist the students in a better relationship with the patients, colleagues and other collaborators; to acquire and train acts and proper attitudes of surgical activity and to develop cognitive and affective capacities.
