Abstract (EN): Global material balances are used for the prediction, step by step, of the behavior of a three step one column PSA process with one linearly adsorbed and one inert species. A computer program, based on these step by step material balances, is written for the simulation of the cyclic operation of the system. The system behavior, as predicted by this simplified model, is compared with the prediction of a 'complete' differential model; the simplified model is able to predict qualitatively the influence of several operating parameters on the system behavior.
