Abstract (EN): This chapter describes a project in the area of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL), in particular for the continuous care of the elderly. The development of this project is associated with a perspective of improving the quality of life of bedridden, intending thereby to minimize the problems related to the daily care of elderly/bedridden, in order to develop solutions that enable mobility, autonomy, safety, comfort and hygiene in the home care of patients. These actions may increase the participation of the bedridden in social life and allow some basic tasks such as eating, take a shower and take care of their hygiene, which are difficult to perform, taking into account that often the primary caregiver is a family member. Therefore, to answer the requirements of this project, one must follow steps for the development and design of one or more mechatronic systems that allow a single person to help carrying out the daily care of elderly and/or disabled people who are bedridden. © 2016 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
