Resumo (PT): No âmbito da segurança contra incêndio os espaços interiores dos edifícios devem ser organizados para permitir que, em caso de incêndio, os ocupantes possam alcançar, de forma fácil, rápida e segura, um local afastado do perigo, tipicamente no exterior. Tendo em vista tal objectivo, a nova regulamentação define um parâmetro, o efectivo – de cada local e do edifício – cuja adequada quantificação se torna essencial para a determinação de disposições fundamentais de segurança. Neste contexto, e em fase de projecto, o número de ocupantes considerado para cada espaço do edifício é um factor decisivo para o dimensionamento das vias de evacuação, nomeadamente no que se refere ao número e largura das saídas e à largura das vias de evacuação horizontais e verticais e, indirectamente, a distância a percorrer até às saídas. Neste artigo, reflecte-se sobre o facto de que, para além do cálculo do efectivo para cada compartimento, é verdadeiramente importante fazer a análise da repartição do efectivo pelas via de evacuação que servem aqueles compartimentos. Apresenta-se a importância daquele juízo de repartição do efectivo através de três casos de estudo, todos correspondentes à arquitectura de um complexo turístico, reflectida na influência no dimensionamento das vias evacuação e da largura das saídas, assim como nas distâncias a percorrer até à saída. A partir destes três exemplos que se pretendem elucidativos, sintetizam-se os principais factores a considerar durante a análise de um edifício sob o prisma da repartição do efectivo pelas diferentes vias de evacuação, passando por aspectos intrínsecos ao próprio edifício, bem como pelas características dos seus ocupantes.

Abstract (EN): In the scope of the fire safety, the interior spaces of the buildings must be organized to allow that, in case of fire, the occupants can reach easily, fast and safely a place, enough far away from the danger typically in the exterior. In view of that purpose, the new fire safety code defines the variable: the quantity of people – in each place and in the building – whose adjusted quantification becomes essential for the fundamental security criteria determination. In this context, and still in design analysis, the number of occupants considered for each space of the building is a decisive factor for the sizing of the evacuation ways, namely what concerns the number and width of the exits and to the width of the horizontal and vertical ways of evacuation and, indirectly, the distance to cover until the exits. In this paper, we point for the fact that, beyond the calculation of the quantity of persons for each compartment, it is truly important to make the analysis of the distribution of that quantity of persons for all and any evacuation way that serves those compartments. The importance of that distribution judgment is presented through three cases of study, corresponding all of them to the architecture of a tourist complex, reflected in the influence of the ways evacuation dimensions and the width of the exits, as well as in the distances covering until the exit. From these three examples witch intention is to be elucidative, we synthesize the main factors to consider during a building analysis under the prism of the distribution of the quantity of persons by the different evacuation ways, passing by several intrinsic aspects of the building itself, but also of the characteristics of its occupants.
