Abstract (EN): Automation is a promising field for drug administration during general anaesthesia [1,2]. The State Entropy (SE) is a well established indicator of the effect of anaesthetics on the brain/EEG. The objective of this simulation study was to develop a SE based controller for propofol, using sliding-mode control. This technique takes into account known model uncertainties (different responses to propofol), and guarantees robustness inside the boundaries used in the controller design.
