Abstract (EN):
In this paper a computational framework for the analysis of coupled hydrofracture flow in porous media, using a Finite/Discrete Element Method, is presented. It encompasses the description of the basic assumptions underlying the proposed strategy, as well as the details of the numerical approach. The effectiveness of the overall strategy is demonstrated and the key features of the model are emphasised. Finally, some concluding remarks are presented.
