Resumo (PT): A debut-mother project named PUKHA (to Project, to Undertake, to Know How to Achieve) was launched in 2004 in the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University aiming to develop the so-called soft skills on its students. Through hands-on projects, students from different academic years have the opportunity to assess and develop their responsibility, communication, leadership, entrepreneurship, among other key skills. More than 250 people have taken part in 40 projects. Within this framework, the development of an industrial engineering and management computer game (IMAGE) has been carried out for more than 2 years. Twenty seven people have participated, and eight students have been leaders of the group. Among PUKHA, IMAGE is considered a case study. After the specification phase, the group went through some difficult barriers when developing the simulation software. After a stage when it was outsourced a multidisciplinary team was formed. We present the hurdles faced by students when cooperating with a professional software company and a multidisciplinary team.
