Abstract (EN): An embankment with about 100m length and 20m maximum height, with side slopes reinforced with geogrids was constructed in the portuguese IP3 road near the locality of Lamego. The heighest section of the embankment was monitorized in terms of internal and face movements, soil vertical pressures and reinforcement strains. This paper will describe the geometry of the slope and the physical and mechanical characteristics of the foundation, fill and reinforcement materials. The construction method and the location of the monitoring equipments will be, also, referred. The behaviour of the reinforced slope during the construction period will be analysed in term of induced reinforcements strains, vertical soil pressures distribution and face and internal movements. Some conclusions will be drawn, concerning the observed behaviour of the structure.
