Resumo (PT): As colocações do ingresso ao Ensino Superior representam um dos principais eventos do Jornalismo de educação. Em 2020, surgiu nas redes sociais algum protesto por parte dos alunos de Medicina portugueses, relativamente à maneira como o curso de Medicina era representado na cobertura jornalística do ingresso ao Ensino Superior. Dessa manifestação digital, surge uma reflexão relativa ao impacto que a cobertura jornalística pode ter na sociedade, contribuindo para a degradação da perspetiva social da já exposta profissão médica. O artigo analisa a cobertura jornalística do ingresso ao Ensino Superior entre 2017 e 2020, na tentativa de, a par das insinuações feitas pelos estudantes de Medicina, procurar uma inclinação do Jornalismo para “caçar” a média de Medicina – através de um enfoque desmedido e enquadramentos negativos que representam uma Medicina em declínio e a “perder para as Engenharias”. O artigo argumenta a importância do framing, contrapondo-a com a necessidade jornalística de estabelecer comparações para tornar a informação mais percetível – refletindo sobre o dever de o jornalista tentar medir e compreender o impacto dos enquadramentos noticiosos que produz.

Abstract (EN): The admissions to Higher Education are one of the main events of education journalism. In 2020, there was a protest on social media by Portuguese medical students regarding the way Med School was represented in the journalistic coverage of admissions to Higher Education. From this digital manifestation arises a reflection on the impact that news coverage can have on society, contributing to the degradation of the social perspective of the already exposed medical profession. The article analyzes news coverage of admissions to Higher Education between 2017 and 2020, as an attempt to find a tendency from journalism, as the students argue, to “hunt” Med School’s GPA – through an excessive focus and negative framings that represent Medicine as declining and “losing to Engineering”. The article argues the importance of framing, opposing it to the journalistic need to make comparisons, so that information is more understandable – reflecting on the journalist's duty to measure and understand the impact of the framing he produces.
