Abstract (EN):
NOx emissions and unburnt carbon may suddenly increase in a thermoelectric power plant,
without major chemical change in the feed coal. One way of investigate these situations is the
petrographic analysis of the feeds and ashes, and the information integration. Three situations are
presented in this study where coal contamination, fines, and maceral composition were, or may be, the
cause for increase in NOx emissions and unburnt carbon
