Abstract (EN):
Since human societies first reached a level of stability and social organization high enough to make waste collection a concern of local governmental authorities, a lot of time and resources have been invested into the matter. With the ascension of the so-called Smart Cities, many unexplored opportunities are brought up in this context. The present paper proposes a software architecture to be implemented in the context of Smart Cities. A platform for the research, simulation and implementation of route generation algorithms, that challenges the traditional models and that makes the best use of the technologies available today, such platform aims to function as an implementation of an Artificial Transportation System with the goal of suppressing the existent flaws and gaps in today's systems, be it for economic, environmental, sustainability, time-efficiency or even health related areas. The architecture's initial draft is explained and its results are presented and analysed. © 2017 IEEE.
