Resumo (PT): Centrando-se na análise de uma das raras obras que na Península Ibérica, nos fins do século XVI e começos do seguinte, se produziram em torno do tema pobre/alter Christus como via (ascética e mística) de perfeição espiritual, procura-se, recorrendo a outro tipo de documentação – parenética e iconográfica – situar tal problemática no contexto social do seu «tempo».

Abstract (EN): Focusing on the analysis of one of the rare works that in the Iberian Peninsula at the end of the XVIth century and the beginnings of the following, were produced around the subject of poor / alter Christus as a (ascetical and mystical) way of spiritual perfection, resorting to other types of documentation – sermon books and iconographic documentation - situate this problematic in the social context of its “time”.
