A Leptina, uma hormona sintetizada no tecido adiposo dos mamíferos que foi descoberta em 1994 e que tem um papel importante na regulação do apetite, é a personagem entrevistada nesta obra.
Numa altura em que tanto se fala de obesidade como factor de risco nas múltiplas doenças e a sua alta incidência em Portugal, este livro pretende dar a conhecer ao leitor alguns aspectos do conhecimento científico actual em áreas relacionadas com o controlo do apetite e a obesidade. Cabe depois, a cada um, a tarefa de descobrir o que fazer com essa informação.
