Abstract (EN):
In Donax trunculus, golgian-derived proacrosomal dense vesicles were observed since spermatocytes I, In spermatids, a unique acrosomal vesicle appeared, which continued to accept golgian vesicles at its apex. Acid phosphatase activity was detected both in golgian vacuoles and the apex of the forming acrosomal vesicle, although the mature acrosome did not reveal any enzyme activity. The mature spermatozoa are of the primitive type and contain a perforatorium. Silver stained the acrosomal vesicle, the centriolar fossa, the periphery of centrioles and their linkages to the nuclear envelope and plasma membrane, whereas phosphotungstic acid at low pH stained the apical region of the acrosomal vesicle. These cytochemical results are compared with those obtained in Spisula solidissima and Scrobicularia plana, and the overall results are discussed with the previous studies in the Heterodonta.
