Resumo (PT): Procurando problematizar alguns princípios que dizem respeito à constituição de uma estética decadentista finissecular em língua portuguesa na passagem do século XIX para o século XX, este trabalho pretende apresentar uma reflexão sistematizante sobre algumas questões decisivas da poesia portuguesa das últimas décadas do século XX, a partir da abordagem articulada das obras poéticas de três autores (Joaquim Manuel Magalhães, Luís Quintais e Rui Pires Cabral) que produziram livros e estudos críticos determinantes no período que marca a transição entre os séculos XX e XXI. Neste sentido, e a partir da leitura crítica concentrada fundamen-talmente em produções dos anos 80-90, o estudo visa uma perspectivação integrada de certas especificidades discursivas, temáticas e poetológicas das obras, com vista a uma ponderação mais alargada que coloque em destaque os traços próprios de uma certa linhagem da poesia portuguesa do final do século XX, de consequências notórias na constituição da poesia portuguesa do início do século XXI. Crise e crítica, história e decadência, regresso e progresso, o lugar e a morada, música e melancolia, restos e ruínas: eis alguns dos motivos que atravessam e estruturam os versos destas três obras, e que se revelam cruciais para a análise da função que elas desempenham no panorama da literatura portuguesa do final do século XX.

Abstract (EN): Trying to problematize some principles concerning the establishment of a decadent aesthetic in the late twentieth century, this paper aims to present a global reflection on some key issues of the Portuguese poetry of the last decades of the twentieth century, based on the analysis of the poetic works of three authors (Joaquim Manuel Magalhães, Luís Quintais and Rui Pires Cabral) who have published books and several decisive critical essays in the period that marks the transition between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In this sense, and based on the combined critical reading of works of the 80-90s, the study aims at an integrated analysis of specific discursive, thematic and poetological features of these works, in order to highlight the very traits of a certain lineage of Portuguese poetry of the late twentieth century, with notorious consequences in the constitution of the Portuguese poetry of the early twenty-first century. Crisis and criticism, history and decay, return and progress, the place and the dwelling, music and melancholy, debris and ruins: here are some of the reasons that cross and structure the lines of these three works, and that prove crucial to the analysis of the function they play in the panorama of Portuguese literature of the late twentieth century.
