Summary: With Agenda 2030 the global community has recognized that decent work is both a means and an end to achieve sustainable development. Therefore, in 2018, ASEAN declared on promoting Green Jobs to reduce the environmental impact through occupation. According to the International Labour Organisation, decarbonisation is expected to generate up to 24 million green jobs by 2030, the majority in Asia. Green jobs are defined as work that is both environmentally sustainable and economically viable. TUNE project is specially created to support the UN and ASEAN agenda in performing reform in Higher Education Institutions by promoting green jobs education among university students to nurture future green leaders. This project is designed to improve education, career advising and job placement processes to promote green and sustainable careers in HEIs. TUNE also focuses on supporting curricula updates to build the capacity building that needed for a sustainable and inclusive future. Lastly, enhancing communication processes between employers and educators around workforce needs for ongoing improvements. TUNE project consists of 3 solid pillars which are analysis and training, institutional strengthening, strategic development at the ASEAN level, and visibility, quality and management. These pillars will serve as a foundation for a sustainable result that addresses in the project objectives. TUNE is expected to remodel HEIs that will not only impart information but also additional economic and social values to the community and country through the dissemination of the teaching and research findings; improved access to quality of higher education, in particular for people with fewer opportunities and in the poorest countries in the different regions and alignment of the academic world with industry needs by enhancing employability of students in green jobs sectors. By doing so, the ASEAN region can help ensure a bright and sustainable future for all its citizens.
