Objectives
Study programme's generic objectives.
The present course aims the development of a solid, integrated and global formation within the frame of the biological and medical sciences, with emphasis on dental medicine formation. It aims the development of basic competences of theoretical and practical origin, towards the clinical practice of dental medicine.
Accordingly, it is aimed that the master in dental medicine, has:
a) A wide education within the thematic of Dental Medicine and technical and proficient competences within all the areas of clinical intervention in dental medicine;
b) Capacity to establish team work, with other agents of the work practice;
c) Communication and social skills adapted to his clinical practice;
d) Capacity for the dental intervention, in an evidence-based approach, and initiated by a rational problem-based analysis, regarding the diagnosis, planning and therapeutic intervention;
e) Capacities for the development of competences through the concept of life-long learning;

Within the attendance of this Course - one aims that students develop competecnes in 7 fundamental and interdisciplinary domains that are the source for the rpoficiency within the clinical practice of dental medicine.
a) Professionalism – regarding the development and practice of an ethical and responsible behaviour within clinical practice;
b) Interpersonal, Communication and Social skills – regarding the communication approach with patients, other healthcare professionals and agents involved with the dental practice;
c) Knowledge and information – concept application regarding biological, medical and clinical sciences; learning, processing and data application capacities in an autonomous or self-supported way;
d) Clinical information gathering – competences on the acquisition of signs and symptoms needed for the adequate establishment of a clinical history within the range of the dental practice;
e) Diagnosis and treatment plan – regarding clinical evaluation and assessment, differential diagnosis and clinical decision;
f) Therapeutics – supported decision regarding therapeutic actions and proficiency on its execution for the establishment and maintenance of oral health;
g) Health prevention and promotion – improvement of healthcare for individuals, groups and populations

Entrance Examinations: 02 Biology and Geology and 07 Physics and Chemistry.
Minimum mark: Application mark 100 points.
Admission Examinations: 100 points.
