Objectives
Provide the following core competencies:
- To know the main constituent elements of the removable orthodontic appliances;
- To know the main constituent elements of the fixed orthodontic appliances;
- Ensure adequate knowledge of the various types of orthodontic appliances;
- Develop the ability to analyze and apply the postulates of the bioprogressive philosophy.
Learning outcomes and competences
The Student ought to:
- be able to design, make and activate biomechanical plates;
- know the main components of the fixed orthodontic appliances;
- ensure adequate knowledge of the various types of orthodontic appliances;
- develop the ability to analyze and apply the postulates of the bioprogressive philosophy.

Presencial
Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)
Basic knowledge of orthodontic biomechanics.

Eligibility for exams
Mandatory attendance at least 75% of contact hours.
Calculation formula of final grade
Attendance x 10% + Laboratory Work x 20% + Final Exam 70%.
The result of the evaluation will be expressed on a numerical scale from 0 to 20 values.
The student whose final grade is equal or higher than 10 values is considered approved.
