Objectives
The aim of this CU is to enable the student with communication skills not only oral but also written and by digital means, among peers, with other professionals and with the public spectrum, planning, implementing, presenting research work and disseminating scientific knowledge, taking into account;
- the phases of the scientific method;
- the use of credible sources of information;
- the rules for writing, presenting and/or publishing the various types of scientific work.
It is also intended to be able to recognise the role of both verbal and non-verbal aspects of communication. Since the use of collaborative tools is a fundamental aspect in different communicative activities, students are expected to become competent in their use.
Learning outcomes and competences
The intention is that students acquire very specific skills, both in the use of tools for collecting and organizing information (e.g., conducting research at EBSCOhost or organizing references with EndNote) and in the communication of scientific work (e.g., in the use of tools for collecting and organizing information). how to write a literature review monograph; how to prepare a multimedia presentation or a poster to make a communication in public), it is important that the teacher, besides transmitting information, has the opportunity to "model" what is expected to be done and then give the opportunity to "experiment" the students, being available to correct and give feedback. Theoretical classes are of the expository type with occasional interaction with the students and taught by a single teacher, in a conception of critical exposition of theoretical concepts and supported by technologies to support teaching and communication, which the teacher explores and adjusts to his measure. These tools value the dynamics of the class and are generally in digital support, mainly "Powerpoint", "Prezi", small videos and analogues. These classes are for the students' plenary. Theoretical-practical classes are mostly oriented to "know-how" with classroom experience. The differences between the theoretical-practical classes and the practical classes are a greater teacher/discent interaction assuming that fewer students will be taught and a practical familiarization with the instruments and training with the manipulation of auxiliary tools for more effective communication.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical and theoretical-practical classes with b-learning support.
Theoretical lessons - presentation of information and explanation, modeling / demonstration of the use of certain tools / techniques.
Theoretical-practical classes - application exercises on what was learned / observed in theoretical and practical classes, with tutorial guidance by the teacher.
The assessment is distributed with a final exam with the support of the Moodle platform.
It is intended that students acquire very specific skills, both in the use of tools for collecting and organizing information (e.g. conducting research at Pubmed or organizing references with EndNote), and in the communication of scientific work (e.g. how to write a monograph of literature review; how to prepare a multimedia presentation or a poster to make a public communication), it is important that the teacher, in addition to transmitting information, has the opportunity to "model" what is expected to be done and then give opportunity for "experimentation" to students, being available to correct and give feed-back. The theoretical classes are expository with occasional interactive with students and taught by a single teacher, in a conception of critical exposure of theoretical concepts and supported by technologies to support teaching and communication, which the teacher explores and adjusts to their measure. These tools enhance the dynamics of the class and are generally in digital format, mainly "Powerpoint", "Prezi", short videos and analogues. These classes are for the students' plenary. The theoretical-practical classes are mostly oriented towards "knowing how" with classroom experience. Eligibility for exams
Frequency conditions :
- Not exceed the limit of absences in the TP classes (according to the frequency regime of UP and MIMD attendance regulation FMDUP from 2015/2016 - 75 % contact hours ) ;
- Actively participate in activities to develop in the context of class;
- Undertake and deliver the required work;
- fullfill the tests;
- Obtain a minimum grade of 9,5 values in each evaluation component.
Calculation of the final grade: (50%TP+50%P) but a minimum of 9,5 is required in the theoretical-practical and theoretical components.
Calculation formula of final grade
50% Continuous, procedural
(TP class participation, management of portfolio with work performed and delivered in Moodle)
50% Continuous, tests
Assessment Formula
Ordinary students:
Normal season - Final grade =tests T 50% + continuous TP 50%
Recourse season - Final grade =test T (exam T 50% + continuous TP 50%)
Students with attendance exemption (AE):
Final grade = T tests (50%) + TP work (50%), it is essential for access any season of final exam, the physical presence during the oral presentation of TP work.
Students with AE, in the beginning of the semester, should contact the teacher in order to schedule the most convinient dates to accomplish TP tasks.
For approval in any of the regimens it is necessary condition to fulfill the TP work.Examinations or Special Assignments
The assessment in this CU is distributed without final exam. The T evaluation is distributed in two tests (frequencies). Practical assignments are given during TP classes. Students with attendance exemption must present the TP assignments proposed for the CU.
Internship work/project
It is intended to implement the practice delivering a task in the form of a monography, a poster and respective brief oral presentation. It is expected that the student begins to develop proficiency in scientific production and speaking skills by performing the presentation of the work performed in the classroom environment. The students will use collaborative tools of Google Apps.
It is essential for access at any season of final examination, the deliver of TP work. For approval in any of the schemes it is a required condition to fulfill the TP work.
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
The employed students (Despacho No. GR.03 / 05/2011) and students who have access to the special season to completion of the study program - Finalists (Article 9 of the General Regulations for the Evaluation of Learners. UP), should perform the continuous-process component (theoretical-practical component) through the preparation and presentation of tasks set by the teacher, maintaining the requirement to do the terminal component by conducting the written test.
Students with AE, in the beginning of the semester, should contact the teacher in order to timely prepare the work plan and
to schedule the most convenient dates to accomplish TP tasks.
For approval in any of the regimens it is necessary condition to fulfill the TP work.Classification improvement
According to the rules relating to the procedures for assessing FMDUP. The improvement of marks is done at the recourse season through the repetition of the theoretical component through a test that includes the subjects of TP classes.
Final score = T Exam (50%) + TP work (50%).
Observations
Exam review - Students who wish to review the tests may do so on the date and time indicated by the teacher. They shall enrol previously to review the tsts, according to the information presented by the teacher.
